There are many qualified counsellors who could help you. These are available through websites such as www.counselling-directory.org.uk. Look for counsellors who are registered with a professional organisation and check their code of ethics so that you know what to expect. Most counsellors will not charge for the initial meeting and it may be worth visiting a few people before you find the right person for you. Often it comes down to whether you feel you can trust the person you are working with and whether they understand and recognize your needs.
Like many counsellors I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) which means that I abide by their code of ethics. I am also DBS checked and receive regular supervision for my work. Unlike most counsellors I work outdoors or indoors depending on your needs.
